---David Busch's Compact Field Guide for the Nikon D7100--- More than a manual and less than a product review this guide book covers all the controls and menu items on the camera. Giving the reader a well written, concise line by line understanding for each menu item. I read my copy in just a few hours and now have it as a reference resource.
I also purchased the newly written and one could say companion book which is far more detailed ---David Busch's Nikon D7100 Guide to Digital SLR Photography--- These two together are a wealth of knowledge

Being new to the D7100, I found the author's extensive knowledge of not just this camera, but others in the Nikon family helpful regarding lenses and the versatility of this particular unit. His explanations about the camera's ability to adjust to lenses that lake the internal motor for self adjustment was especially helpful for a telephoto lens I purchased with the camera. This more condensed version, (I also purchased the larger version by the same author) is helpful because it cuts through some of the more
complex features of the camera. For some shooting techniques it was more useful than the larger edition which I purchased in Paperback. Also of note that the graphics in the Kindle version are clear and easy to follow which made the whole experience very productive for me. The author at times gets into his pet practical solutions for things like re-formatting and can be heavy-handed then. But I will continue to hope he can help me resolve my ineptitude with ISO, Fstops, and shutter speeds.
